June 27th 2013, UK: Intermorphic Ltd today releases Noatikl 2 Mobile. You don't have to be a musician to create new musical ideas or enjoy making music. Noatikl 2 Mobile lets you create deep, fascinating, custom generative music (AKA 'inmo' music) and gives you all the power, features and breadth of control you need. With Noatikl 2 Mobile a journey of musical discovery awaits you.
Noatikl 2 is the evolution of the SSEYO Koan Generative Music system used in the 90s by Brian Eno et al. To generate its MIDI music notes and controller information Noatikl uses generative / aleatoric / stochastic / algorithmic music techniques and parameters that have been developed over the last 20 years. These can be used to drive & control settings of favourite external synths, FX units and samplers or, for totally portable and self-contained sound generation / fx, an advanced and integrated MIDI, Sound & FX multi-synth.
Noatikl 2 Mobile is free with no timeout, and is as fully functional as Noatikl 2 Desktop except that it cannot use or work with scripts or listening voices. It can open and play files shared by others and also save Sound and FX Networks (a special case where saving is allowed prior to in app purchase [IAP]). Save, Export and Clipboard is enabled via in app purchase through the Noatikl Store. For in depth information on Noatikl 2 features see the Noatikl 2 User Guide concerning MIDI Note & Controller generation, and the PSE User Guide concerning sound generation & FX.
Pete Cole and Tim Cole, the Intermorphic founders and brother team said “For a long time we have been wanting to release a version of Noatikl 2 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, especially with support for Core MIDI, Virtual MIDI and AudioBus. Now it is out it is a perfect complement to the Desktop versions. You can work on complex pieces on the go and then continue in the desktop version and vice versa. True portable generative music for those who want to experiment and explore!”.

Intermorphic Ltd was co-founded in 2007 by Tim Cole and Pete Cole. It develops music creativity & relaxation ("creative relaxation") apps that use generative, text-to-music & cut-up techniques. The Cole brothers ("the Coles") have a history in music software innovation: they co-founded SSEYO in 1990 and from then to 2001 they created and worked on the BAFTA Award-winning "SSEYO Koan Interactivity Platform" which included the "Generative Music" engine used by Brian Eno for his seminal 1996 "Generative Music 1". SSEYO Koan software was available for Windows, Mac and Windows Mobile and in a range of variants from Standalone to Audio Plugin to Web Browser Plugin. Following Tao Group's acquisition of SSEYO in 2001, the Coles created the intent Sound System (iSS) and BAFTA Award-winning "SSEYO miniMIXA", one of the world's first mobile music mixers. Intermorphic secured the IP rights to the iSS and SSEYO software in Q2 2008. In 2007 it released both "Noatikl: Generative Music Composer" (the evolution to SSEYO Koan) and "Liptikl: Cut-Up Text Writer". This was followed in 2008 by "Mixtikl: Generative Music Mixer" and in 2012 by "Tiklbox: Generative Music Player". After many years deliberating on the next step forward for Generative Music the Coles decided that it was "Reflective Music" and so in 2014 came the first of the "Wotja® : Generative Music System" releases. By 2017 the key authoring capabilities of Noatikl, Mixtikl and Liptikl had been fully consolidated into Wotja for iOS and macOS, including the playlisting of Tiklbox. February 2018 saw the first release of "Wotja X", a cross-platform UI variant that finally allowed Wotja to be available for all of Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. By 2019 this had become the cornerstone of all Wotja V19 apps, including the Wotja interface for TV launched in June 2019. Wotja V20 sees the system and its music, sound and text engines extended further, with new features and many new improvements.
