Oct 2nd 2017, UK: Intermorphic Ltd today releases a major upgrade to Wotja for macOS® which sees it join Wotja for iOS as a powerful tool for generative music composition & mixing, sound design, cut-up lyric generation and playlisting of relaxing ambient mixes. In the Apple ecosystem Wotja has now fully assumed the mantle of successor to Noatikl, Mixtikl, Liptikl and Tiklbox.
Wotja is a unique app and includes generative music, sound and text engines developed with approaches refined over decades. These engines allow it to be both a generator of ideas for music, melody, MIDI and creative writing, and in particular, to create a live stream of live ambient music. The inclusion of a playlist system means Wotja is also ideal for playing user created generative mixes. Wotja uniquely brings these capabilities together for the goal of what is termed "creative relaxation".
For both macOS and iOS there are two versions of Wotja - a free subscription version and a paid for "annual" version (this year's version being "Wotja 2017"). The subscription version has a number of "XT" In-App Subscription tiers that allow Limited Commerical Use generation of live / interactive background ambient music for installations, small shops etc.
Wotja was first released in 2014 and since then has gone from strength to strength. Work started in 2016 to bring the best of Noatikl, Mixtikl, Liptikl and Tiklbox into one app that could open, and provide a forward migration path for, files created in those apps. By early 2017 the first fruits of that work were released as Wotja 4 for iOS, an app which has continued to be refined during the year. With the new release of Wotja for macOS the consolidation of the forgoing "Tikl" apps is now complete for the Apple ecosystem. 2018 will see many further exciting developments for Wotja.
Tim Cole and Pete Cole, the Intermorphic founders and brother team said “Consolidating all our apps into one this year has been a truly massive undertaking for us and we truly thank those who have continued to journey with us. We know it has sometimes been hard to see where we are heading, especially as this has been such a complex "multi-part" transition. Being only human we have taken some wrong turns along the way and we thank customers pointing them out to us so we could put them right! Much has changed in the 27 years we have been working in our niche but we have always continued to forge ahead. Wotja is at last now in a good place to allow us to deliver further exciting developments in the years to come. If you want to jump in and get started now then get Wotja 2017 or Wotja with a subscription, otherwise feel free to wait until Wotja 2018 is released. We hope you choose to continue to journey with us!”

Intermorphic Ltd was co-founded in 2007 by Tim Cole and Pete Cole. It develops music creativity & relaxation ("creative relaxation") apps that use generative, text-to-music & cut-up techniques. The Cole brothers ("the Coles") have a history in music software innovation: they co-founded SSEYO in 1990 and from then to 2001 they created and worked on the BAFTA Award-winning "SSEYO Koan Interactivity Platform" which included the "Generative Music" engine used by Brian Eno for his seminal 1996 "Generative Music 1". SSEYO Koan software was available for Windows, Mac and Windows Mobile and in a range of variants from Standalone to Audio Plugin to Web Browser Plugin. Following Tao Group's acquisition of SSEYO in 2001, the Coles created the intent Sound System (iSS) and BAFTA Award-winning "SSEYO miniMIXA", one of the world's first mobile music mixers. Intermorphic secured the IP rights to the iSS and SSEYO software in Q2 2008. In 2007 it released both "Noatikl: Generative Music Composer" (the evolution to SSEYO Koan) and "Liptikl: Cut-Up Text Writer". This was followed in 2008 by "Mixtikl: Generative Music Mixer" and in 2012 by "Tiklbox: Generative Music Player". After many years deliberating on the next step forward for Generative Music the Coles decided that it was "Reflective Music" and so in 2014 came the first of the "Wotja® : Generative Music System" releases. By 2017 the key authoring capabilities of Noatikl, Mixtikl and Liptikl had been fully consolidated into Wotja for iOS and macOS, including the playlisting of Tiklbox. February 2018 saw the first release of "Wotja X", a cross-platform UI variant that finally allowed Wotja to be available for all of Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. By 2019 this had become the cornerstone of all Wotja V19 apps, including the Wotja interface for TV launched in June 2019. Wotja V20 sees the system and its music, sound and text engines extended further, with new features and many new improvements.
